I had one editor tell me a story deserved to be published, even tough she couldn't buy it. When she suggested I publish it myself, I thought she had lost her mind. Obviously I changed my mind.Mary Marvellahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12015719890476028848noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4456337395840098707.post-66923105188700565302012-01-14T14:05:47.541-06:002012-01-14T14:05:47.541-06:00Well, I'm later than Beth, but here I am. When you self-pub, you don't have to worry about how long the story has been sitting on your hard drive or be tied to trends. All you have to do is put out the best piece of writing you can. Since my skills have grown, it's taking me a while to get through my backlist and revise each book, but I'm getting there. Of course, right now, I'm writing new stuff from sketches of the Miranda's Rights series that I had planned, but never written. Time-consuming, yes, but it will be well worth the effort in the end.Linsey Lanierhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00715385349179663367noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4456337395840098707.post-79991679150244511882012-01-10T21:06:08.265-06:002012-01-10T21:06:08.265-06:00Judy, I still have hopes for some of my manuscript...Judy, I still have hopes for some of my manuscripts to sell!Mary Marvellahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12015719890476028848noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4456337395840098707.post-12923229500294684062012-01-10T21:05:23.118-06:002012-01-10T21:05:23.118-06:00Late is fine, Beth. A self-pubbed should be even better written than a New York published book to gain a list of fans. I can forgive typos or spelling errors due to distraction, but I don't forgive bad writing mistakes that throw me out of a story: awkward sentences, repetitious words, continuous use of was, feel, and vague words; it's the weak voice that tells rather than show.Mona Riskhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14923883333893160794noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4456337395840098707.post-4852387691870679922012-01-09T14:12:04.627-06:002012-01-09T14:12:04.627-06:00I already have my copy, so don't enter me in t...I already have my copy, so don't enter me in the contest. :)

I have quite a few rejected or unfinished manuscripts.
