Goddess Fish Excerpt Tour—15 days, 15 different excerpts—Prizes

A mother, confronted with her husband’s infidelity, must decide whether to help raise his child or end her marriage.

Annie and Steward Rayburn have loved each other since high school. Their life is idyllic until their baby dies of SIDS, and Annie falls into a deep depression. Months of therapy help her recover, and her life finally returns to normal.  

Despite his own grief, Steward tries to comfort Annie, yet when he reaches for her in the night, his advances are rebuffed. In a moment of weakness, he turns to another woman. Stu’s learns his night of infidelity produced a baby girl. The mother died in a car crash, and her will gives Stu custody.

Stu can’t deny the child is his, and he's determined to raise her. He begs Annie’s forgiveness. Hurt and angry, Annie must face her demons, decide if she can forgive Stu, and love the innocent child, or divorce him and move on without the only man she’s likely to love.

Prizes will be:

1. Handmade (by my husband) wooden jewelry box, a lightweight sterling silver charm bracelet with three charms 

(a pink baby shoe, a pink diaper pin and a cup), and 

an e-copy of Shattered Vows. 

2. Second prize is a handmade shawl pin. I like to think it is similar to the one Jamie Frasier wears on his plaid in Outlander. Of course his is metal of some kind and from looking at the pictures, he wears different kinds. The afghan the pin is attached to is not included. The pin looks nice on a shawl or heavy scarf. Second place winner will also receive an e-copy of Shattered Vows.

3. Third prize is an e-copy of Shattered Vows.

Electronic Publishing Conference

EPICon 2015 Registration opens December 6, 2014.

EPICon 2015, Bringing ePublishing Partners Together.

EPICon is the annual conference of EPIC, the Electronic Publishing Industry Coalition, whose mission is to provide education and to promote ePublishing standards to publishers and independent authors.

EPICon is March 13 and 14, 2015 and is held at the Menger Hotel, in San Antonio, Texas. There are additional add-on options available on March 12. All days are packed with educational workshops that all industry professionals will find informative. Registration is open from December 6, 2014 through February 28, 2015 online at http://epicorg.com/.

Guest speakers include Jim Azevedo of Smashwords, John W. Warren of Mason Publishing Group/George Mason University Press, and many others. Workshop topics include marketing, fan-base creation, and using clean metadata to increase sales by 70%.

Price is $224 for members, $249 for non-members and includes most meals. Price does not include hotel or travel. Rooms are available at the Menger Hotel at a discounted rate of $110 per night. 

If you've not visited San Antonio, this is the perfect opportunity. The weather will be nice and they are so many historical sites to visit. Plan to stay an extra day or two if you can and take a cruise on the canal and shop at Market Center. Visit the bar in the hotel where Teddy Roosevelt and his Rough Riders spent time and tour the hallway's historic memorabilia.
